Why supplements but not real foods?

An advertisement would say, "You don't have to go to grocery shopping and cook meals, but the supplements provide you all the nutrients you need to have everyday." I always come up with questions: Are supplements completely safe to a human body? How about the coating on the tablets? Is it some kind of chemicals? Can these artificial products give humans as much nutrition as real vegetables?

Maybe, if supplements are expensive, these supplements may contain decent amount of minerals and vitamins. But if a bottle, which contain hundred supplements, costs only $10 in Wal-Mart, you have to carefully look at the label of the bottle and see its health effect and how much nutrition contain in a tablet.

I have a friend, who eats only supplements, which she purchases online every month, for dinner. She said, "I love supplements because they include all the minerals and vitamins I need to take." She also said that she could gain all the nutrients just by eating these tablets instead of taking an hour to cook and eat meals.

For me, eating is the happiest time a day; therefore, eating or swallowing some tablets, which do not taste anything, is boring.
